Spectacular Gerania vase signed by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala, a small production by the renowned designer between 1971 and 1980. Solid, pressed glass with a sensational ice texture, it is curved at the waist and rests on three slightly raised feet. A masterpiece of Scandinavian design, at once poetic, elegant, raw, and masterful. Tapio Wirkkala's signature is engraved in the glass, along with the number of this very small vase: 3431. In remarkable condition with a tiny, almost unobtrusive chip on the rim among the ice reliefs. Beautiful, heavy, and rare. Height 24cm, diameter at widest point 26cm.
