I am selling a superb opalescent glass bowl, moulded-pressed and signed Verlys France from the Art Deco period. It features a highly relief decoration of large wild geese in flight, fish, and swirling waves, typical of Verlys creations from the 1930s. This art glass originated from the Verrerie des Andelys (in Eure), which operated under the Verlys brand from 1925 to 1946, known for the quality of its moulded-pressed glass pieces, often compared to those of Sabino or Lalique. The bowl is made of frosted opalescent glass with bluish reflections that change with the light, particularly highlighting the movement of the birds towards the golden hue. Century: 20th century, Art Deco period (1930s) Manufacturer: Verlys, Verrerie des Andelys, France. Material: moulded-pressed opalescent glass, frosted finish. Decoration: wild geese in flight, fish, and relief waves. Dimensions: diameter 34.5 cm, height approx. 7 cm. Condition: Very good overall condition for its age: no chips or cracks. Signed Verlys France. Bowl ready to be displayed in a showcase or used as a centrepiece.
