"Forme Libre" desk by Georges Frydman for EFA Circa 1950 Original oak veneer top. Black lacquered metal tubular base. 2 drawers with brass handles. Like the designer, the piece is modernist, functionalist and inspired by the Bauhaus. Georges Frydman was born in France in 1924. He devoted himself to interior design after meeting Le Corbusier. In 1954, he founded Équipement Fonctionnel de l'Habitation which would become the EFA company. The prestigious René Gabriel design prize was awarded to him in 1966.
