Set of 6 Pierre Paulin CM 196 chairs for Thonet – 1960s

Icon of French design, this set of 6 Pierre Paulin chairs – model CM 196 published by Thonet in the 1960s combines lightness and modernity. Tubular structure in black lacquered metal, seat and backrest in original black skai on a black plywood base, with typical flat seams of this series. A great classic of modernist furniture, both understated and comfortable, perfect around a dining table, in a meeting room, or in a vintage interior. Publisher: Thonet (France) Designer: Pierre Paulin. Model: CM 196, circa 1958–1962. Materials: black lacquered metal, black skai, black plywood. Condition: Good general vintage condition. Solid structures, original skai with some minor signs of use consistent with age (see photos: small wear on the backs of some chairs). Stable and ready for use. The chairs are currently located in Moselle 57600; however, it is possible to arrange for them to be brought to PARIS 16th.
