Set of 6 "Dorsal" chairs by Emilio Ambasz and Giancarlo Piretti for Openark (Italy), from the 1980s. Designed in 1980 by the Italo-Argentinian duo Giancarlo Piretti & Emilio Ambasz, showcasing modernity and ergonomics. Manufactured in Italy by Openark, it easily adapts to the "space-age" style and office design. Moulded plastic structure with metal legs. Clean and functional lines, typical of the conceptual language of the period. The chairs are stackable. All chairs can be connected to each other using a small connector and a fixing notch. This system is ideally designed to create rows of fixed chairs or to move them row by row, for example. Good overall condition, consistent with age. Normal signs of wear over time are present. Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna in 1940. He studied at the Instituto Statale d’Arte and then worked as a designer for Anonima Castelli for 20 years, designing various ranges of furniture. Piretti collaborated with prominent names in design such as Emilio Ambasz in the late 1970s. They also designed the ergonomic seats Vertebra and Dorsal together. Throughout his career, the designer has received numerous prestigious awards, notably for the Piretti Collection: the IBD, ASID, Compasso d’Oro, and G-Mark awards. Dimensions: Height 81 cm. Width 59 cm. Depth 50 cm. Seat depth 44 cm. Seat height 47 cm.
