Walnut and marquetry secretary – provincial work, Louis XVI period / late 18th century. Elegant straight secretary in walnut and marquetry, opening at the front with a belt drawer, a drop-down flap, and two doors at the bottom. The upper drawer is adorned with bronze ring handles, featuring a central lock entry. The drop-down flap showcases a beautiful walnut panel, framed by a marquetry of fillets, revealing a storage space typical of secretaries from this period. The lower part opens with two doors also framed by fillets, resting on slightly tapered legs. A simple and elegant piece, typical of provincial work inspired by the Louis XVI style, highlighting the warm grain of the walnut. Condition: good overall condition, typical restorations, small cracks and signs of age consistent with its antiquity. Material: solid walnut and fillet marquetry. Period: late 18th century.
