Mid-Century 'Pirate' Easy Chairs by Elsa and Nordahl Solheim for Rykken 60s

Exclusive pair of leather lounge chairs 'Pirate' with flat steel chrome frame and armrests with a fine leather upholstery, which is rarely seen! Designed by Elsa and Nordahl Solheim for Rykken who also designed the similar Kengu Chair that is made of bended wood. First drawn in 1967 but first produced in 1973. Both Elsa and Nordahl were inspired by the Italian designer Achille Castiglioni and admired his sense of clear structures and the ability to put familiar elements into a new product. This is a real gem and is in a very well preserved condition.
