Small traditional woven basket, slightly flared cylindrical shape, fitted with a snug lid. The structure is made from fine strips of woven fibres in a crossed geometric pattern, with vertical reinforcements and visible fastening ties made from natural fibres. Base made from cut wood. This type of container was traditionally used in Indonesia for storing and transporting rice or other dry goods in rural households. Variations in colour, irregularities in the weaving, and signs of use reflect the artisanal craftsmanship of the piece. It can also be used as a sculptural decorative element.
