Louis XV desk

Large walnut desk with side pull-outs and five front drawers. This desk is a creation of the Potheau Constantin company in Paris. It has just been fully restored, and we have replaced the leather (full-grain leather embossed with a wheel). Biography. Georges and Constantin Potheau took over the business of Charmois and Lemarinier in 1881 and formed Potheau Frères at 21, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris. They became famous for their complete, simple, and rich furnishings. Noticed at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris, they won a silver medal for a superbly sculpted fireplace. In 1894, only Constantin continued to operate. Desk with comfortable dimensions for working. The carving of the legs and drawers is particularly well done. All the bronze handles are signed.
