Very beautiful small still life in oil on canvas signed Sarpe and dated '79, depicting a brass mortar with its pestle, garlic, and an egg against a soft background of brown and green tones. Careful work, bright contrasts. The wooden and gilded stucco frame, richly moulded in the Rococo style, enhances the overall piece. Canvas in landscape format 27x22 cm, frame 40x35 cm and 6 cm thick. Very good overall condition; frame partially regilded and repaired at the top, discreetly, canvas clean with no missing parts or tears.
