(see photos) About Cari Zalloni: Cari Zalloni was an Austrian designer perhaps best known as the creator and chief designer of Cazal eyewear, the iconic eyewear brand. He was born in Athens, Greece, in 1937 to a father of Greek-Italian descent and an Austrian mother. Zalloni's career began in 1960 after studying design at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna. He initially worked in furniture design in Siena, Italy, before moving to Germany in 1962 to design decorative glassware and three very successful pottery lines for Steuler: "zyklon", "facette", and "continua". Zalloni passed away in 2012. About Steuler: The company was founded by Georg Steuler in Höhr-Grenzhausen in 1917. Steuler reached its artistic peak in the 60s and 70s and became particularly known for the "zyklon", "facette", and "continua" series by designer Cari Zalloni. Most Steuler vases are of above-average quality. On the bottom, a raised ST monogram can be read. Until 1966, Steuler was based in Höhr-Grenzhausen. From 1994 to 1996, ceramics were produced by the company Tonart Ververs, but it ceased to exist in 1996 due to a lack of interest in its products. The company Steuler Fliesen GmbH, independent from Steuler since 1984, still exists today and manufactures tiles and refractory systems. Careful shipping.
