Beautiful amphora vase with two handles from the Kupittaan Savi factory in Turku (Finland), dating from the 1940s–1950s. On a cream enamel, a frieze of orange daisies with black centres is hand-painted with a quick and confident brush. Green crosshatches alternate with the flowers, and the frieze is framed by wavy green lines and manganese brown fillets. Two angular handles connect the shoulder to the neck, the lip of which is highlighted in brown. A piece of Nordic ceramic that is warm and graphic, which complements both a bohemian interior and Scandinavian or Mediterranean decor. Marks and provenance. Stamp "Made in Finland" under the base. Monogram of the decorator hand-painted. Label from the auction house identifying the manufacturer. In good vintage condition, with no cracks or restoration. There is a fine crazing of the enamel, small chips of enamel, and wear on the heel and base.
