This is a rare modernist bookend, designed and manufactured by Carl Auböck III in the 1970s. The bookend consists of a large brass medallion, which displays the coat of arms of the House of Habsburg, the double-headed royal eagle, and the words viribus unitis. The piece is surrounded by a square blackened iron frame. In very good condition. These bookends were produced in very limited quantities.
