Vase with birds in forged metal, handcrafted, 1960s

Spectacular decorative vase in forged and patinated metal, in the brutalist spirit of the 1960s-70s. The piece features an imposing circular body, set on a conical base and topped with a flared neck. On either side, a decor of wrought iron scrolls supports two stylised birds entirely shaped from metal. A particularly sculptural piece, straddling the line between decorative object and sculpture, remarkable for the contrast between the mass of the central body and the graphic lightness of the ironwork. Beautiful old patina, with signs of time consistent with its age. Handcrafted work, second half of the 20th century, circa 1960-70. Dimensions: H 33 × W 33 cm.
