This Neo-Renaissance desk from the late 19th to early 20th century is recognised for its richly detailed sculptures featuring animal, floral, and mythological motifs from the 16th century. Its structure is made of dark-stained oak and is quite massive. It also features fabulous animals and fantastic characters. The frieze consists of a large central drawer and two stacked drawers on each side. There is a secret drawer inside the lower right drawer (missing the key, not locked). The top has a crack along the length of the wood, which has been previously restored. The top slides to optimise the workspace, and on it rests a series of drawers with a central niche. A small arabesque has also been visibly restored (see photo). The legs, with twisted columns in the Louis XIII style, are shaped like an H. A piece full of charm and authenticity.
