Oval Multi-Faceted Wall Mirror and Brass Garlands. French Work.

This oval wall mirror features a frame made up of two concentric rows of small beveled mirror facets, arranged in a mosaic and separated by fine brass beaded garlands that also highlight the borders. The central glass, slightly smoky, is marked by radiating crossbars that rhythmically outline the perimeter. This type of mirror with faceted edges, inherited from Venetian mirrors and updated in the 1970s, particularly in Spanish and Italian productions of the period, plays with the multiplication of reflections to capture light from all angles. Condition report: Overall good condition. Complete facets, brass garlands well in place, central glass may show probable micro-pits inherent to age. A sparkling mirror that will enlarge an entryway, hallway, or bedroom with great effect.
