Vintage metal chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari, Italy, 1950s

Large vintage geometric chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari, made in Italy in the 1950s. The Sciolari brand was founded in Rome by Angelo Sciolari in 1892, but it was his grandson Gaetano who achieved international success from the 1950s onward. Gaetano Sciolari (1927–1994) was one of the most highly regarded Italian designers of the 20th century. Nearly 30 years after his death, his name and designs continue to enjoy great popularity. In the 1950s, the Sciolari brand made its mark in the United States with innovative and futuristic designs while maintaining an elegant and refined aesthetic. This chandelier is in very good vintage condition and has the original manufacturer's label. Dimensions: width 60 cm, height 55 cm, weight 8 kg. The lamp requires 9xE14 European lightbulbs and is compatible with the E12 USA socket. Works with standard bulbs, LED or halogen, 220V for Europe and 110V for the USA.
