Gaetano Sciolari 1970s Italian Brass & Textured Glass 9-Light Chandelier

Exceptional 1970s Italian chandelier attributed to Gaetano Sciolari, combining a sculptural geometric brass structure with distinctive faceted textured glass shades. The architectural arrangement of rectangular brass elements and intersecting arms is characteristic of Italian Mid-Century Modern lighting, with influences of Space Age and Hollywood Regency design. The textured white glass beautifully diffuses the light, creating a soft, warm glow while retaining the chandelier's strong geometric character. A striking statement piece for a dining room, living room, entrance hall or other refined interior, and equally decorative when switched off. The chandelier has been very well preserved overall. There are some small superficial scratches to the brass base, consistent with age and use; please see the detailed photographs. Three of the glass shades have very small chips along their upper edges. These are located at the very top of the shades and are completely concealed beneath the brass holders once the chandelier is assembled, so they are not visible when installed. The glass shades otherwise present beautifully. A sophisticated and increasingly collectible example of 1970s Italian geometric lighting, particularly attractive for collectors of Sciolari, Boulanger and Italian Space Age design.
