Set of 7 pieces made by Karoly Balogh, a Hungarian ceramist active in Dreux. Work recognised for the purity of forms and the quality of its high-temperature glazes. Aesthetic: Brown speckled glaze with grey-khaki tones. A mineral and understated colour, currently highly sought after (Chic Country, Japandi, Natural Deco styles). Signature K-Balogh Dreux and date (1985) incised underneath the jug. Monogram "KB" incised under each cup. Dimensions: Jug: Height 21 cm, base diameter 12 cm and neck 10 cm, total width with handle 15 cm. Cups: Height 9 cm, diameter 7 cm. Condition: The cups are impeccable; note a chip (restored glaze chips taken into account in the price) on the back rim of the jug, see photo, without any cracks. The set is sound and robust.
