XXL pot cache Scheurich West Germany

Here is a very large and beautiful white glazed ceramic planter with lovely clean lines. Flared and simply adorned with drapery at the top, this planter is very elegant. Its simplicity will allow it to easily fit into a minimalist or cosy interior. And its large size can accommodate an impressive indoor plant. It is stamped underneath "Scheurich, " one of the most well-known and reputable ceramic manufacturers in Germany, founded by Alois Scheurich in 1928. It also bears the mention W.Germany, so it dates from before the reunification of Germany in 1989. I would date it to the 1980s, as its design contrasts with the more colourful glazes and heavily textured pieces from the 1960s or 70s. Finally, it has the mention 908-33, which corresponds to the shape of the vase (908) and here to its diameter (33 cm). Indeed, generally, the second part of this number corresponds to the height of the ceramic, at least for vases. However, it seems to be different for planters. It is fully glazed on the inside. It is in very good overall condition, neither cracked nor chipped, just a few discreet signs of use: small scratches, stains, or abrasions. It measures 28 cm in height and 33 cm in maximum diameter (at the opening). It weighs nearly 4 kg.
