Large cache-pot Jérome Massier

Very large handmade planter signed JM, probably Jérome Massier or Jacques Massier (his brother). The pottery tradition of the Massier family dates back to the early 19th century. Jacques Massier (1801-1871) founded the first family factory in Vallauris in 1820. He passed on his know-how to his descendants. Delphin Massier and Clément Massier are brothers, sons of Jacques. Jérome Massier is their uncle, the brother of Jacques. Jérome Massier had a son also named Jérome (1850-1926): pottery often referred to as "Jérome Massier fils".
