Here are two lovely small plates, for dessert or cheese, from the renowned Italian brand Fontebasso, founded in 1760 in Treviso. They feature a fine decoration called "english landscape." The decoration is in a single colour, rather original for this type of plate, in brown, and the more or less dark effect is achieved by varying the density of the dots and lines. The edge is wavy, a ripple that is also found in relief on the rim of the plates. This model is often dated to the 1950s, but personally, I would lean more towards the 1960s or 70s because the stamp on the back indicates that they are dishwasher safe, but before 1980 when the brand was renamed "Andrea Fontebasso 1760" at the time of the acquisition by Tognana. The stamp also mentions that these plates were made in Italy. They are in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a scratch. They measure 20 cm in diameter. I am also offering two deep plates from the same collection here.
