This demi-lune shaped piece of furniture brilliantly embodies the refinement of the Louis XVI style, combining classicism with a decorative fantasy of great finesse. Its top, made of violet and white breccia marble, encircled by an openwork brass gallery, offers a striking contrast to the marquetry composed of rosewood, mahogany, and palisander. The front opens with a single door adorned with a musical trophy (lyre, violin, flutes, and sheet music) framed by delicate fillets, paying homage to the arts and harmony. This door features a chiselled bronze key accompanied by a functional lock and a beautifully crafted entry. The belt, animated by floral volutes in bronze, highlights the elegant curve of the piece, while the bronze ram's head drop finials evoke ancient nobility. The slightly curved front legs, dressed in leaf-shaped sabot, gracefully extend this aesthetic. Inside, a discreet shelf allows for optimal storage. The lower crossbar, adorned with a bronze urn, completes the ensemble with a solemn touch. A display piece, ideal for enhancing a classic living room or enriching a collection of period furniture. Every detail reflects exceptional craftsmanship and a keen taste for neoclassical ornamentation. Period: Mid-19th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop. Waxed finish.
