Two Directoire/Consulate style chairs, circa 1795–1810, possibly late provincial Louis XVI. • Rectangular backrest with a central medallion featuring vertical fluting. • Slightly curved tapered legs at the front, square in section. • Straight apron with gold nails (visible nail heads) — traditional period upholstery. • Dark wood — walnut or stained oak, with a very pronounced old patina. • Wide and low seat, grey/green velvet.
