Green Dandy Mate Silvia Musical Gas Table Lighter with Engraved Design

This charming vintage Dandy Mate Silvia table lighter, in dark green and silver, features a delightful engraved scene on the front: a pagoda in the distance and a geisha with a parasol enjoying the view. The front, sides, and lid are a beautiful dark green, while the base and edges are silver-plated metal. On the back of the lighter, there is an embossed Dandy Mate logo and the Silvia logo within a red frame. The music box crank is also located on the back. It turns smoothly but makes a very loud clicking noise when playing the melody "Maiden's Prayer." It also plays very slowly, suggesting that the music box may require servicing. Inside the lid is a removable lighter that has not been tested and is therefore sold as a collector's and decorative item only. The lighter is in good vintage condition (untested) with some minor scratches caused by our handling. The problems with the clockwork mechanism are detailed above. The lid latch does not close automatically; the small button must be used to close it, and even then, it doesn't close completely. The lighter comes with its original box, the top flaps of which are torn and the box is slightly damaged. Please feel free to contact us if you would like additional photos.
