Jean Nouvel, the French architect who designs furniture

Jean Nouvel (born 1945) is probably the greatest living French architect, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2008. The author of the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Musée du Quai Branly, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Philharmonie de Paris, he has also been signing signature furniture since the 1980s for Cassina, Sawaya & Moroni, Ligne Roset and Vitra. His armchairs, tables and bookshelves, with extreme architectural rigour and crafted materials (anodised aluminium, tinted glass, raw steel), embody a vision where the object is treated as a building.

Jean Nouvel furniture for Cassina, Sawaya & Moroni and Ligne Roset remains the architect's most identifiable design work. French contemporary furniture to find for those wanting to bring a Pritzker signature into their interior.
