Carlo Nason, the light of Murano
Carlo Nason (born 1935) belongs to that dynasty of Murano glass masters who turned the Venetian archipelago into the world capital of light. Trained in the family glassworks, he joined the major Italian publishers (Mazzega, AV Mazzega) from the 1960s onwards to design lamps, chandeliers and sconces in blown glass. His signature? Pure, modular, almost scientific shapes that play with transparency and colour. A Nason lamp doesn't decorate a room: it sculpts it.
Pulse lamps, modular blown-glass chandeliers, structural floor lamps: Nason's production covers the full palette of Italian Sixties and Seventies lighting. A signature to find for anyone who loves Murano glass in its most radically design form.
