Arne Jacobsen, the absolute master of Danish design

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) is, alongside Hans Wegner and Finn Juhl, one of the three names that on their own sum up the golden age of Danish design. A total architect and designer, he created the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1960 and designed its furniture, lighting and tableware in full. His collaboration with Fritz Hansen produced three absolute icons: the Ant chair (1952), Series 7 (1955) and above all the Egg and Swan armchairs (1958), now in every museum collection. A body of work where every line is a solved equation.

The Egg armchair, Swan armchair, Series 7 chair and Ant chair remain Arne Jacobsen's most iconic pieces. Edited by Fritz Hansen for seven decades, they alone embody modern Scandinavian design. Vintage seats to find for those wanting an absolute classic.
