Terence Conran, inventor of accessible design

Sir Terence Conran (1931-2020) invented accessible design. A designer, restaurateur and publisher, this Briton founded the Habitat chain in 1964, revolutionising European furniture by democratising good design: light pine furniture, simple tableware, colourful textiles, all at reasonable prices. He also signed his own furniture under the Conran Shop label, opened iconic London restaurants and participated in the creation of London's Design Museum. A total body of work that shaped contemporary Western taste.

Furniture signed Terence Conran, from original Habitat seats to Conran Shop pieces from the 80s and 90s, are now sought after by lovers of British vintage design. Furniture to find for those who love simple, honest and well-made design.
