Marc Berthier, inventor of Prisunic design
Marc Berthier (1935-2020) is one of the French designers who popularised good mass-market design. An interior architect trained at the École Camondo, he led in the 1960s the Prisunic style office and designed for the brand a series of coloured plastic, light wood or metal furniture that democratised modern design in France. His Ozoo table (1968) in moulded polyester and his Prisunic furniture remain references. Later, he would design successfully for Magis, Pininfarina and even Lexon.
The Ozoo table in moulded polyester, Prisunic desk and Marc Berthier children's furniture remain the designer's most recognisable pieces. French vintage furniture to find for those wanting a democratic pop signature from the 60s-70s.
