This coffee maker with its lid is original to say the least! It looks like it's made of wood with a nice veining, but it's ceramic! This is the first time I have come across one with this shape and décor imitating wood. It is asymmetrical, with bumps depicting the knots of the wood to perfect the imitation. Below, it is stamped in hollow vallauris with two other markings, a c or a u and the gj stamp (but at first glance one could think of an s followed by a point) which according to my research is that of the grandjean jourdan workshop. It dates from the 50s or 60s. Sébastien grandjean filed a patent for ceramic imitation faux olive wood in 1957. It is in very good condition, no crack, a very small shine on the spout and some small scratches that can only be distinguished when the light reflects on it at a certain angle. It is 25 cm high with the lid, about 13 cm wide, 21 cm deep and weighs about 900 g.
