Gien platter, compartmentalized earthenware appetizer serving tray

This charming oval platter with handles and compartments, decorated with a pretty maple leaf motif in low relief, is perfect for serving a variety of appetizers. Its glaze is a lovely khaki/olive green, typical of the 1970s. It is stamped Gien on the back, and the design of the stamp confirms its period of manufacture, between 1971 and 1984. It is in good condition, with no cracks or chips, but a small chip in the glaze on the edge of one handle—a small flaw, or rather an original imperfection in my opinion—and, of course, the fine cracks (not affecting its use) under the glaze, which are a testament to its age. It measures 37.5 cm long, 27 cm wide, and 2 cm thick.
