Imari porcelain cache-pot in a typical polychrome decoration: cobalt blue, iron red, and gold highlights. The decoration is divided into three main cartouches featuring women in kimonos set against a red background, surrounded by peonies, chrysanthemums, and stylised foliage. The upper frieze alternates between orange cartouches with white scrolls and blue ones with flowers and gold scrolls, with a wide rim collar. A Greek key band at the base. White glazed interior. No mark on the reverse, Japanese export manufacture for Europe circa 1890-1910.
