Gérard Roux was born in 1946 in Saint-Mandé, into a family of painters and artistic cabinetmakers of Florentine origin. Trained at the Fine Arts and Graphic Arts schools in Geneva, his signature is registered with the Société des Artistes Français. An impressionist and modern painter, his works have been sold at auction numerous times. A beautiful oil on canvas depicting a lively pastoral landscape: a herd of cows resting by a river, under large leafy trees in soft, misty light. Post-impressionist style, in the tradition of the Barbizon School. Signed at the bottom left. Framed in a beautiful moulded gold frame. Condition: slight dent in one spot, see photo on the back that shows it, otherwise no issues.
