Mid-Century Modernist Armchairs in the style of Francis Jourdain, France, 1940s, Set of 2

Vintage Mid-Century Modernist French design armchair set of 2 in the style of Francis Jourdain. Made in France during the 1940s/50s. Solid oak constructed frame with rush woven back and carved and turned details. These feature custom-made period leather cushions in cognac leather, which were recovered from a 1960s sofa. Both armchairs are in very good condition, showing clear signs of wear on the wood and woven rush backs due to their use and age. Each chair measures 83cm X 65cm X 60cm, with a seat height of 40cm. The leather cushions were reupholstered specifically for this set.
