"Tampung" box, bamboo and leaf Indonesia, Lombok early 20th century

Rare, beautiful and large traditional box known as Tampung, for domestic use. Made of bamboo strips and plant fibres, dried banana leaves, craftsmanship, Indonesian folk art, Lombok, early 20th century circa 1900-1940. Oval cylindrical shape in black and light patinated wood tones. In very good condition for its age, it shows signs of wear, with some areas of worn rattan weaving, slightly loose strips but an intact structure, one strip missing, very discreet.
