Marmoucha rug

THIS BEAUTIFUL RUG is a Marmoucha. Its name comes from the "Imazighen" community called "Marmoucha" who live in the town of Imouzer Marmoucha, in the Middle Atlas Mountains in the "Maghreb" (Kingdom of Morocco). Marmoucha weavers have been making these rugs by hand for thousands of years in rudimentary living conditions, being in rural areas. They make them on the "mansej" (vertical looms) with tools such as the wool packing comb, the carder and the distaff. This rug is very soft due to its large quantity and quality of wool. This rug is 100% natural and handcrafted. Measurements: 2.32 m X 1.83 m.
