Important Marquetry Floor Lamp, Louis XV / Louis XVI Transition Style

Rare double-top floor lamp in rosewood marquetry and light wood fillets. This light fixture has a triangular-section shaft that widens towards the bottom. Its sides are inlaid with rosewood leaves arranged horizontally and highlighted with light wood fillets. A first circular level adorns the floor lamp and features a butterfly-wing veneer surrounded by a wide light wood fillet alternating with dark wood. The base of the lamp forms a pedestal table whose circular top is surrounded by an openwork brass gallery. It rests on four slightly arched legs adorned with bronze trim at the bottom. At the top, the lamp socket is held by a tube forming a pear topped with an acorn.
