Superb old engraving entitled “Perspective View of the Champ de Mars”, depicting the ascent of a balloon during the celebration on 24 June 1810 in Paris, in the presence of the imperial court. The scene illustrates the École Militaire and the crowd gathered to celebrate the marriage of Napoleon I and Marie-Louise, with the balloon piloted by Mme Blanchard, a famous aeronaut of the time. Finely coloured engraving, beautiful composition very decorative in soft green and pastel tones. Wooden frame with light mount, ready to hang. Characteristics: Technique: coloured engraving.
