Raku vase after a first firing, the piece is enamelled and then annealed faster. At the exit of the oven, the room is enclosed in a basin containing paper, bark or sawdust to complete its cooking. This cooking method makes each piece unique. Historically, raku pottery appeared in japan around the sixteenth century. It is linked to the "wabi" aesthetic which advocates the beauty of imperfection.
