Side table suitcase "lady baltimore"

This suitcase is an old lady born around the 60s in the usa. Very fashionable at the time, lady baltimore offered sets of 3 4 5 pieces (suitcases, vanity etc). Abandoned on the sidewalk as soon as I saw it I loved it. Immediately, without even thinking about it, I was determined to revive it in another form! That's how this vintage suitcase became a side table! But it is versatile, open Closed With/without feet There are so many possibilities! The tray is rigid and the whole is stable. (but not to the point of making it a seat) The gilding has been cleaned of the few spots of rust and voluntarily left in its state for the patina and the charm that this gives it. All mechanisms were dismantled and lubricated. The key and locks work again. Its inner lining, on the other hand, was irrecoverable, it was necessary to find a new one I opted for a patterned vinyl adhesive to make it more contemporary and harmonious. The suitcase was as beautiful as it was in 1960, but it needed support. This wrought iron foot that I had already renovated was made for her, as soon as she put it gloant! A layer of gold paint was spray-applied to the support, but sparingly in order to have consistency with the patinated gilding and avoid a side too "bling bling" that a lady would no longer support.
