Alexander putov is a painter, born in russia, then emigrated to israel and finally to france. He was born on march 9, 1940 in kamensk, russia, to a jewish mother, sarah isaakovna abarbanel, and an orthodox father sergei. He first prepared to become a doctor, but realized that it was not for him. At the end of his military service, in 1962, he spontaneously began to draw, and then decided to become a painter. During the ten years that followed, alexander putov settled in moscow where he obtained a diploma in architecture, and organized several exhibitions of his works. During his life, he experimented with a very large number of different techniques. Ranging from drawing to oil painting, sculpture, engraving, and the use during the art-cloche period of recovered and reused objects. Thus, it is difficult to fit Alexander Putov into a particular movement, although some call him expressionist. He calls his vision of art "the realism of destiny". He was a member of the "art cloche" movement founded by Nikolai Pavlovsky. This movement was originally housed in a squat on Rue d'Arcueil.
