Here is a pair of Space Age wall sconces, circa 1970s, emblematic of the futuristic aesthetic that characterises European design from the late sixties and seventies. The composition is based on a chrome metal structure with organic and dynamic lines, forming a symmetrical V-shaped arm anchored to a circular base with meticulous finishes. Each sconce is equipped with two spherical globes made of moulded and textured glass, featuring an irregular relief similar to a crackled effect, typical of glasswork from the period. This treatment of the glass allows for a soft and even diffusion of light, while creating subtle reflections as the light passes through the material. The whole perfectly illustrates the codes of the Space Age: spherical volumes, noble industrial materials (chrome and glass), and a balance between functionality and sculptural expression. These sconces are in line with the Italian and German productions of the 70s, influenced by space exploration and the technological optimism of the time. These sconces, with a strong decorative presence, will be ideal in a vintage, modernist, or contemporary interior, above a bed, in a living room, a hallway, or as part of an interior architecture project seeking a bold lighting signature. They are in very good condition with minimal signs of use. Height: 30 cm / 20 cm. Diameter of globes: 13 cm. Diameter of base: 7 cm. Length from one globe to the other: 35 cm.
