4 vintage Caffarelli (Italy) majolica knife rests

Set of four Carafelli barbotine knife rests, featuring generously shaped and brightly colored vegetables in relief: a bell pepper, an eggplant, a radish, and a leek. These glazed ceramic pieces, both playful and highly decorative, are characteristic of the Italian barbotine style of the 1960s–1980s. Each knife rest is modeled in relief and then hand-painted, with subtle variations in tone, from deep greens and vibrant reds to beautiful gradients of glossy glaze. Stamped with the Carafelli mark, an iconic Italian manufacturer, active primarily in the Bassano del Grappa region during the 20th century, renowned for its richly modeled and hand-painted barbotine ceramics. Dimensions: between 7 and 8 cm long and 2 and 3 cm high. Excellent vintage condition. Luminous glazes, no cracks or chips, slight wear and patina consistent with age (see photos). Perfect for a contemporary cottage table or a cheerful neo-retro decor, in keeping with the current trend of reimagined earthenware.
