Yuji kawase - born in 1938 in kiryu – active in kiryu until about 2000. Price: - 1973 exhibition of the modern academy of kokeshi - kokeshi prize of the association of modern writers. Unsigned - shock on the left side of the mouth (see photo) - two discolored areas at the back of the head. Traces of manipulation - the treatment of the wicks, the kimono with large foliage, are recurring style elements of this craftsman. - - about kokeshis: they were toys for girls, or offered as a token of love or friendship; or symbolized the desire to have a healthy child. They would have a function of talisman, are modesty, softness. They would also have a buddhist origin. Their hairstyles evoke the buddha bun. A certificate - notice on the artist will be given to the purchaser. As well as a detailed explanation of the art of kokeshis.
