Wall display case

This small pine showcase has been completely restored by myself (i am a cabinetmaker), it has benefited from the aesthetic improvements described below. (see before/after photos) After dismantling the structure that was nailed, the whole was stripped and sanded with abrasives of different grains and manually so as not to mark the surface of the pieces of wood because pine is a soft wood and therefore fragile. The damaged top was changed and a shelf was redone. So that the edge of the back is no longer visible on the sides, foliage was created on the back to integrate the back panel which was previously cut and covered with an old fabric printed with small flowers. Two plates were installed for hanging on the wall. The structure was then reassembled and glued. To improve the maintenance of the glass which held only by a few nails, the foliage of the door was deepened and parcloses were installed. A brass hook and a new button were placed on the door. Different finishing products for the protection and final appearance of the furniture were applied: two layers of fondur (product used as a primer), two layers of shellac (patina based on wax and natural resin) and two layers of wax to patina, with a very fine steel wool ginning between each layer. Finally, the showcase has been polished with different materials (cotton, wool and vegetable brush). In a bedroom, a bathroom or a kitchen, this pretty little solid pine showcase will easily accommodate your small decorative objects or small utensils.
