Pair of tubular armchairs, 1970s–1980s, Czechoslovakia

This pair of armchairs comes from the New Stage building of the National Theatre in Prague and dates from the 1970s to 1980s. The design reflects late modernist furniture with an emphasis on structure and material. The chairs rest on a cantilevered tubular brass frame, combining visual lightness and structural stability. The seats and backs have been reupholstered in fabric, while the original elastic support system has been preserved. Both pieces remain in good condition with a natural patina on the brass and signs of use consistent with their age. The original inventory label confirms their provenance.
