Folk art painted bridal chest

This beautiful antique bridal chest dates from around 1875 and is decorated with extremely decorative painting. This example comes from southeastern Europe and is a fine example of folk art from this period. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was then placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. All our bridal chests have been checked and, where necessary, restored, although the characteristic appearance of these chests has been preserved. This example is mainly decorated with colorful floral paintings with a heart in the middle. 39 cm high, 98 cm wide, 48 cm deep.
