Gijs Bakker folding lounge chair rattan webbing for Castelijn, 1970s

A lovely folding chair model “VF” designed by Gijs Bakker and manufactured by Castelijn in the Netherlands in 1976. The piece is made of beautiful quality beech wood with a lovely light brown colour. The seat and back are made of rush, fitting really nicely to the design and creating a beautiful harmony and modern style. It has a beautiful rounded shape with an impressive seating comfort and giving the piece a fantastic style! The folding mechanism allows easy movability and storage and makes this piece a nice and versatile addition to many kinds of decor! It remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. It has a small damage to the seat webbing, as shown in photos. Measurements: 66 × 73 × 79 cm. Seating height 36 cm.
