Gustavian painted shelves

This is quite an unusual piece, a 'knock down' shelving unit which can be taken apart and is fixed together with simple toggles at either end. It is a useful piece which could serve a variety of purposes in any home, perfect for displaying decorative items or for use as a bookcase. The shelves are made of solid wood and are quite decorative, the shelf fronts are carved with a chipped design and the two end supports are heavily carved with an abstract floral design. I have hand painted this piece is a pale blue colour before heavily distressing the paintwork to give a shabby chic 'gustavian' finish. The finish is quite smooth and matt looking. Condition. This piece is solid and sturdy with some marks here and there and some slight bowing to the wood. Some of the wooden toggles are later replacements and there has been a piece of wood added to one side support at the bottom where a small section had chipped off. Measurements. Height- 102.5cms. Width-106cms. Depth- 20cms at the top, 26cms at the base. Shelf heights- top 20cms, middle 25.5cms. Bottom 30cms. Shelf width-95cms, shelf depth-20cms. The measurements are taken at the widest points.
